London, July 2, 2020 - Quinyx, a leader in workforce management solutions, is pleased to announce that Well Pharmacy has chosen them to improve how they schedule their pharmacist cover across their entire estate. Well is one of the largest community pharmacy chains in the UK, employing around 7,000 people across their 750 pharmacies.
The partnership will see Quinyx support Well’s scheduling and communication with their own pharmacists and locums across all pharmacies, and help Well continue to deliver the best service to their local communities.
Speaking about the new partnership, Nigel Swift, Operations Director at Well, commented:
“Now more than ever, people are turning to their community pharmacy for advice and support with their health and wellbeing. Making sure that we have expert pharmacist cover in all our pharmacies can be a huge logistical effort when you factor in short notice sickness and holidays. That’s why we need a reliable, effective and flexible scheduling tool to help us do that. After researching our options, we chose Quinyx and its seamless integration with things like the GPhC register, to check professional registrations, as our solution. This will mean that we will be better able to support our patients and customers with the right skilled pharmacist in the right pharmacy to offer the community the services they expect from us.”
Nigel Swift, Operations Director, Well Pharmacy
Quinyx CEO and Founder Erik Fjellborg added:
“By using a cloud-based workforce management system, Well is embracing software that delivers benefits to both its pharmacists and their customers. This partnership marks an exciting step forward for Quinyx within the UK pharmacy sector, a sector we can see is more important than ever for the good of society. For Quinyx, it also means an essential addition to our mission on making people’s work lives more enjoyable - and it is great to see Well share our passion for simple and flexible working.”
Erik Fjellborg, CEO & Founder of Quinyx
About Well Pharmacy
Well have been offering pharmacy services for over 70 years to communities across the UK. They’re the third largest pharmacy in the UK, employing nearly 7,000 people and providing over 72 million prescriptions each year across their 750 pharmacies. Their pharmacists can provide advice on getting the best from medicines and general healthcare, as well as treating minor ailments and offering a range of health and wellbeing products – all without having to make an appointment.
In addition to physical community pharmacies, they give customers choice, with their online service for those who want the convenience of having their repeat prescriptions delivered direct to their home – available online or as an Apple (IOS) or Android app.
They also offer a range of healthcare items for sale via their online pharmacy: shop.well.co.uk. Items are available for home delivery with a one off £4 delivery charge.
Well have partnered with ZoomDoc to highlight to their patients and customers the option of having speedy and convenient access to a doctor via a private phone, video or home visit consultation: well.co.uk/zoomdoc.
Their Bestway Medhub subsidiary provides a wholesaling service for independent pharmacies, and their Wardles subsidiary provides non-medicines (eg, medical consumables such as bandages and dressings).
The Well operation is supported by their Healthcare Service Centre in Stoke-on-Trent, sending out around 90 million stock items to our pharmacies each year. This semi-automated warehouse and distribution centre allows them to use a hub-and-spoke model for prescriptions. This means some items are assembled centrally and sent to pharmacies to handout out to patients.
