U-Bistroo is an Estonian restaurant company that operates three innovative restaurants and an upscale bar in Tallinn: Lee Restoran, Lore Bistroo, Uma Restaurant and Lessner Bar. Lee Restoran is an upscale casual restaurant located in Tallinn Old Town while the three other restaurants serve customers in the trendy Port Noblessner area. The four restaurants employ around 200 people in the high season and around 100 people in the low season.
With plans to grow beyond the current scale and no digital Workforce Management to support it, U-Bistroo identified a need for a modern and scalable system that would save time, increase scheduling efficiency and improve employee experience. Before Quinyx, the restaurants were relying on Google Sheets for scheduling.
For Laura Vana, General Manager for Uma Restaurant and Lessner bar, it was important to have a tool that minimizes the time that managers spend on creating and rolling-out schedules. She explains: “Creating schedules with Google Sheets is very time-consuming and it takes a long time to put together the hours at the end of the month and send them to our accountant."

“I believe that the fewer work apps employees have to use the better,” Laura continues while she talks to us from the backoffice of one of their restaurants.
Having a good employee experience is very important for U-Bistroo and the number one goal of the company is to have happy employees. Thus, it was important that the new system would enhance the employee experience and at the same time be intuitive for all employees to use.
“When the system is easy to use and employees can for instance easily ask for days off and communicate, it’s a good experience.”
