The Case
When Peter Rydebjörk, guide manager, was asked why it is important to optimise staff planning, the answer was simple: “Efficiency. We want to be able to spend less time on scheduling and more time on the core business.”
Why Quinyx?
“Our old scheduling method impeded our flexibility,” Peter says. “Each employee reported their availability two weeks in advance, but when the schedule was complete it was already out of date. We felt that we needed a web-based program so that we always hade an up-to-date schedule. It’s also difficult to predict the number of visitors, so we needed a solution that was flexible in both scheduling and communication. We evaluated many programs, but Quinyx was the only one that met all our demands.”
How is Quinyx Used?
“I use Quinyx to schedule all tour guides and hosts,” Peter explains. “Some work full time, others part time. Many of them usually log on from home, but the majority do it from school because they’re students.” “Quinyx also allows me to publish partially completed schedules without having to worry about discrepancies,” Peter says. “I often publish open shifts, because I know they’ll be booked quickly.”
Quinyx and the Future
“Our business is quite stable,” Peter explains. “But even though our routines don’t change much over time, we’ve already noticed that Quinyx’ improvements simplify our scheduling and employee management. New functions are added that we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves, and we find them helpful right away. We’re very pleased with Quinyx.”
